In addition to her role as a Death Doula, Charon plays a vital role in advancing the field of end-of-life care as a Managing Member of the Florida End-of-Life Doula Association (FEOLDA). This organization serves as a platform for end-of-life doula members across the state to connect, seek support, and access education.

Charon’s own journey in end-of-life care began as a hospice volunteer, where she dedicated over a decade to offering companionship, grief support, and therapeutic massage to patients and their families. These profound experiences shaped her perspective and fueled her advocacy for the importance of striving for a good death experience for every individual. Through her soon-to-be-published memoir, “The Good Death Experience” Charon shares personal stories and experiences that inspire and guide others on their own journeys.

Drawing on her unique Good Death Experience philosophy, Charon believes that everyone should experience the end of life on their own terms. This philosophy centers around the belief that individuals should have the autonomy and agency to shape their end-of-life journey according to their values, wishes, and personal circumstances. By embracing this philosophy, Charon strives to empower individuals to make informed decisions, engage in open conversations, and actively participate in the creation of a personalized end-of-life experience. She firmly believes that by respecting individual preferences and providing compassionate support, we can transform the way we approach and navigate the end of life, ensuring that each person’s journey is honored.

As a Death Doula Coach, Charon is passionate about empowering doulas to become catalysts of compassion, architects of exceptional brands, and embodiments of excellence in end-of-life care as doulas. Her expertise lies in assisting doulas in crafting unique brand identities that authentically reflect their values, expertise, and the transformative care they provide. Through her certification programs, a Death Doula Certificate, Death Doula Coach Certificate, and Business Mentorship Program, Charon guides and certifies knowledgeable and confident death doulas who embody the principles of the Good Death Experience.

Driven by her commitment to shifting the narrative around death, Charon inspires individuals to approach this inevitable phase of life with compassion, dignity, and a profound sense of purpose. By challenging societal taboos, misconceptions, fears, and stigmas, she encourages open and honest conversations about death and dying, while emphasizing the importance of having a plan for a “Good Death.”
